One Year On: What Does Wellbeing Mean ? A Personal Reflection

Many of us our are currently wondering how best to look after ourselves given world circumstances. We want to know how long before we can resume the way we were.

But I’m not so sure I want to be like I was before.

I’m not so sure I was doing such  a good job of looking after myself…

With that thought in mind, I have been tracing back my actions and how they are  influenced by pre-pandemic circumstances. The conclusion I have reached is they were not overall beneficial to my wellbeing. As a result I want to change. I want to to become more compassionate.

But it’s not easy. Take my work ethic for example.

I know that doing more does not mean doing better. But even though I know it, and I am great at coaching others for it, I find my ingrained working practices hard to challenge.

But I am determined and patient.

So what is my hope for personal wellbeing come this time next year?

Well, with our global landscape radically shifting and sociological circumstances on the move, I would like to be physically and emotionally robust enough to meet the challenges ahead .

But…BUT… much more than that -I would like to be kinder to myself and more appreciative of others! I would like to savour the joy of being here. I would like to relish being surrounded by those I love. I would like to exude positivity and help the lives of those I touch. I would like to learn from the the lives of of those I am touched by.

What are you going to do?
