Emoting is the act of emotional expression shown through word or action as communicated to other(s). In education there is no way to decontextualise the act of learning from the emotions needed to enable it. If someone is feeling resourced, confident, playful and safe, learning is a natural consequence. When there is a high level of judgement, too much pace, too many distractions or attacks on the learning environment or an indifference between those involved learning becomes problematic and the number of possibilities for getting stuck or experiencing negative impact increase. When people are free to express their emotional states in ways that show regard, respect and empathy for those around them, the environment becomes full of potential and creative learning can take place as a natural act.
